About me – an abstract painter

My name is Natalia Kowalczyk. I am an economist by profession; I work in the energy sector, whilst painting is my passion and calling.
For years, I have been involved in various fields of art. I have tried my hand at jewellery-making, watercolour painting, colouring with crayons and decoupage. Quite by chance, I painted my first
acrylic painting, and it was then that I discovered the technique that has become my
greatest artistic passion. Since then, I have been constantly developing my
artistic skills. I explore new techniques and sources of inspiration, learning from those whose
work particularly resonates with me

Technique and the creative process

My creative process is based primarily on intuition. I usually begin a piece with
a specific vision, but I allow myself to be guided by my emotions, my mood and the moment. That is why
the final result often differs significantly from my original idea.
I value most those paintings that were created when I allowed myself to work freely,
without excessive planning. In such moments, creativity flows naturally, and the painting
unfolds at its own pace.

My works most often depict misty landscapes with a distinctive texture and
subtle golden highlights. They are inspired by memories of the landscapes
I used to watch every day through the bus window on my way to school.
Realistically depicted animals also feature in these landscapes. They symbolise our
emotions, relationships and experiences. These are stories of closeness, sensitivity, strength and the bonds we
form with other people.

Why do we need beauty?

I believe that beauty can be found in every living thing. It is a reflection of our feelings, memories, joys and sorrows. It helps us to capture important moments, understand our own emotions, or find solace after difficult
experiences.

Art allows us to express what we often cannot put into words. That is why it is so important to create and share beauty with others. In a world increasingly dominated by technology and artificial intelligence, it is human sensitivity, emotions and authenticity that give art its true value.
